On June 13, at Ankai Bus’s R&D and production base, 120 new energy buses stood in formation before setting off on a mission to advance carbon neutrality. This green fleet will travel along the ancient Silk Road, carrying the innovation of "Made in China" across mountains and rivers to the heart of Central Asia—Kyrgyzstan.
Nestled in the hinterlands of Eurasia, Kyrgyzstan is bordered by China to the east, Kazakhstan to the north, Uzbekistan to the west, and Tajikistan to the south. Historically a strategic hub on the Silk Road, the country is dominated by the Tianshan Mountains, with 90% of its terrain being mountainous and an average altitude exceeding 2,500 meters, earning it the dual titles of "Roof of Central Asia"and "Land of Mountains."
As a friendly neighbor sharing close ties with China, Kyrgyzstan was among the first Central Asian nations to support and participate in the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). Since the initiative’s launch, the two countries have deepened pragmatic cooperation in trade, infrastructure connectivity and beyond, achieving remarkable results in traditional sectors while also pioneering new frontiers in green development.
Ankai Bus is not only a trailblazer in the global expansion of Chinese buses but also a committed advocate for sustainable mobility worldwide. The newly delivered buses feature customized, sleek designs, large sightseeing windows, and spacious interiors, perfectly aligning with the demands of modern public transport in Kyrgyzstan. To ensure optimal performance, Ankai rigorously complied with EU vehicle standards and conducted rollover tests, significantly enhancing vehicle reliability and passenger comfort.
This 120-unit order, financed by the Asian Development Bank (ADB), marks the largest electric bus export deal in Kyrgyzstan’s history. The buses will travel 4,000 kilometers to Bishkek, supporting the country’s low-carbon transition with eco-friendly public transport solutions. This milestone not only underscores Ankai’s leadership in new energy commercial vehicle exports but also heralds a new chapter in Sino-Kyrgyz green cooperation.
Strategically located at the crossroads of Eurasia, Central Asia serves as a vital link between East and West, North and South. In recent years, China and the five Central Asian nations have strengthened connectivity, leveraging complementary advantages to elevate practical cooperation. More Chinese automakers are accelerating their presence in the region, transitioning from product exports to technology and supply chain exports.
As a leading Chinese bus manufacturer expanding overseas, Ankai focuses on innovation and intelligence, leveraging cutting-edge products and comprehensive after-sales services to deepen its footprint in Central Asia. From its debut in Uzbekistan to a 300-unit breakthrough in Kazakhstan, and now this 120-unit order in Kyrgyzstan, Ankai has steadily demonstrated the strength of Chinese manufacturing. Beyond Central Asia, Ankai’s new energy buses have reached France, Italy, Uruguay, Nigeria, South Korea, and Japan, showcasing its global ambitions.
Moving forward, Ankai will continue to drive forward with technology, products, and branding, delivering high-quality, high-performance, and eco-friendly buses to reshape the global perception of "Made in China" and champion green mobility worldwide.
